Pelican Island just north of Vero Beach was America's first National Wildlife Refuge which is home to brown pelicans and other native birds. This is the 14th in an annual series and officially proclaimed as "The Daytona Beach Ornament of the Year" by Yvonne Scarlett Golden, the Honorable Mayor of Daytona Beach, FL.
