The screw shell can be up to 8 cm in length depending on the species, and it is yellow, brown, or white in color. Some screw shells have fine beads forming around the ridges, while others are smooth. Our porcelain ornament represents the beauty of this unique shell.
This porcelain holiday ornament has been exclusively designed for our ceramics department by local artist, Dan Gunderson, Professor of Art, Stetson University and produced by our participants at UCP of East Central Florida in Daytona Beach. This is the seventeenth annual, limited edition series and is proclaimed as the Official Holiday Ornament for the City of Daytona Beach. This year's ornament is graciously sponsored by The Pilot Club of the Halifax Area.
