This holiday ornament has been designed exclusively for our ceramics department by renowned artist, Sang Roberson, and produced by our participants at UCP of East Central Florida in Daytona Beach. This is the eighteenth annual, limited edition series and is proclaimed as the Official Ornament for the City of Daytona Beach.
UCP of East Central Florida opened its doors in 1969 as WORC or Work Oriented Rehabilitation Center. In 2009, in celebration of our 40th anniversary serving people with disabilities, we produced a special edition ornament. The particular ornament was chosen from submissions by several local artists as part of our 40th anniersary ornament contest. Artists were charged with creating a design that incorporated our Treasures of the Sea theme as well as our 40th anniversary. This winning design uses a variety of sea shells in the form of "40".
